About Caribefunk, StringsNskins
The elegance of music seduced since childhood, first the rock, then funk and beyond, inevitably, the exotic music of the geographical area where they grew up: the Caribbean ( Colombia), screaming at her leather drum and volume stung (pick up or soundsystem). That elegance that according to the collective imagination of those who support the music, is vulgar, "nothing to do", ugly, poor people, blacks makes us understand that make independent and identifiable music in a city biased by the wild capitalism is a great daring. Therefore, the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina decided to embrace them and welcome them to bring them a piece of the Caribbean to the City of Fury.
Today, they are an emerging group with a bright and fresh sound, well received by the public "underground" of various nationalities, which has to talk to the press, for your interesting way to mix letters with meaning and music, although not You want to make you dance.
The traditional sound of the djembe along the classical sound of the violin. Two worlds emerging and creating a new place of harmony; StringsNskins. The band was originally founded in 2011 by Luisa Bastidas, a violinist hailing from Colombia and Okai Musik a drummer and vocalist of Haitian descent. The duet started as a mix of their two traditional native rhythms and folklore. In 2013 the duet grew into a five-piece band, honing a rich sound that could keep the people grooving and dancing on their feet and spreading the rare beautiful sounds of Colombia, Haiti, and rhythms from the African diaspora to the world with a Brooklyn twist. You cant help but feel the heartbeat of the distinct polyrhythmic rhythmic section, electrifying violin and guitar solos , funky bass lines and energizing dance
