Celebrate the 4th edition of our CANDELARIA NIGHT, featuring one of the most legendary Colombian cumbia bands in NYC, LA CUMBIAMBA SEXtet!

DJ sets by Myk 2Melo, Thronato and Artropolis will keep you moving non-stop. Our hyper-creative VJs will provide projected video installations. Witness fire dancing, performance art and more. We'll close out the night with a jam session of drums and gaitas.

Colombian Woodwind, Brass, and Drums Ensemble

La Cumbiamba eNeYé performs concerts and workshops with traditional instruments from both the Indigenous cultures and the European and African Diasporas as well as the mestizo/criolla culture of Colombia. All of which are blended together to create the traditional musical styles that developed throughout the colonial era and continue to evolve.

La Cumbiamba eNeYé performs in a variety of formats, including an 11-piece band, the traditional Gaitas y Tambores sextet, and a Marching band quartet/quintet.
La Cumbiamba's concerts are a lively latin/world dance party. Performing genres from all over Colombia in a traditional and contemporary ways, the band delivers an exciting,eclectic, non-stop music and dance experience.
Bio
Throughout the years, La Cumbiamba eNeYé has performed shows and taught master classes on Colombian Music in some of the most renowned venues and institutions in the US, such as Summer Stage at Central Park, GlobalFEST, River to River Festival, Summer on the Hudson, Joe's Pub, Lincoln Center Out Doors, Harvard University, Princeton University and Columbia University. They have also collaborated with artists such as Marc Ribot, Dan Zanes, Lucia Pulido and Marta Gomez. Some of these new sounds have been documented in their newest CD, "La Palma," which was released in both the US and Colombia.
