About BROTHER CANE'S DAMON JOHNSON

Damon Johnson is an American guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, best known for his work as frontman for Brother Cane, and as lead guitarist for Thin Lizzy and Alice Cooper. Johnson's list of other writing and recording credits include John Waite, Stevie Nicks, Carlos Santana, Whiskey Falls, Sammy Hagar, Faith Hill, Slave To The System, Skid Row, and The Temptations. In 2013, he launched (along with most of the current members of Thin Lizzy) the critically acclaimed Black Star Riders.

Johnson first came to national prominence in 1993 as the lead vocalist and guitarist for Alabama based rock band, Brother Cane. The band released three albums on Virgin Records (selling a cumulative of over 500,000 records) that would yield three #1 singles on rock radio ("Got No Shame," "And Fools Shine On," and "I Lie in the Bed I Make").  Brother Cane toured extensively as a headliner and was also support act for rock legends Van Halen, Aerosmith, and Robert Plant.

Johnson has also recorded two solo acoustic albums, the latest of which is titled, "Release". This beautiful collection of 14 songs is an honest reflection of Johnson's life and reveals his struggles as well as triumphs. The disc features his daughter, Sarah Marlo Johnson, on two songs, and fantastic interpretations of the Ray LaMontagne classic, "Jolene", and "Generation Landslide" by Alice Cooper.
