About Brooklyn Stand Up!!
Mike Cannon is a New York City based comedian and a delightful human being. He thinks being a good human being is more important, but for the purposes of this advertisement will keep his thoughts focused to comedy. Mike has recently appeared on MTV's Failosophy, MTV's Money From Strangers and has been a contributing writer for MTV2's Guy Code. He currently hosts his popular weekly web-series called "The Weed News with Mike Cannon" and his podcast "Deep Inside the Rabbit Hole." Previously Mike was a co-host of Cosmopolitan Magazine's web-series Sexy vs Skanky, a featured performer on VH1's "Why Am I Still Single?", has been heard on several Sirius/XM Radio shows including The Ron and Fez Show, The Opie and Anthony After Show and The Sam Roberts Show. Mike regularly plays major clubs throughout New York City and is always working on his act. It makes no difference to him whether he's performing in clubs, trying jokes out on his friends, or bothering strangers on the subway for loose change or a sandwich. Comedy is his life, and he is dedicated to making the majority of you laugh and the rest of you confused, yet oddly satiated. He also isn't sure if he used the word satiated correctly.
Best known for his hilarious half-hour stand-up special on Comedy Central and his guest appearances on VH-1, NBC's Last Comic Standing and Chappelle's Show, Kyle started doing stand-up at a local Miami night club while holding down a day job as Art Director at the Spanish-language network Univision. After a few years honing his act in Miami, Kyle said goodbye to Spanish TV and returned to New Jersey, where he was born. Within just a few months, Kyle has become a regular on the New York City comedy scene. Kyle has performed at New York's top comedy clubs, including Carolines, Comic Strip, Comedy Cellar and Gotham. He delivers an honest and intelligent view of the world and gives an intimate look into his life experiences growing up in the American melting pot. Kyle has a sharp sense of humor that appeals to a broad audience. His first comedy CD, The Legend of the Jersey Devil, was named one of iTunes' Top 100 Comedy CD's of 2009. Kyle has been featured on several television, radio and Internet broadcasts, including P-Diddy's Bad Boys of Comedy, Jamie Foxx's Laffapalooza, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, The Byron Allen Show, BET Comic View, Red Carpet Fashion, and for international flavor, Le Grande Journal in France. Kyle also has several appearances in national TV ad campaigns under his belt for companies including T-Mobile, Sears, Career Builders and Holiday Inn Express. Kyle continues to grow as an stand-up comedian, writer and actor and can be seen performing worldwide.
Josh Homer has always been an outsider—from growing up in an interracial household to being raised a Jehovah's Witness, he was on the outside of the mainstream, looking in. Now, as an adult, Josh's performances take his unordinary experiences and make them relatable through the universal language of human emotion. Josh has been performing stand-up comedy for 10 years in New York, where he has received several accolades including winning Best Emerging Comedian in the New York Underground Comedy Festival. He has also been featured on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham and Travel Channel's Food Palaces.
(Comedy Central 'The Half Hour' and @Midnight)
Mike Lawrence is a comedian born and raised in South Florida. He began doing comedy as a way to escape the dullness of his job at the McDonald's Drive-Thru and quickly fell in love with it. He moved to New York in 2007, where he could write about all of his miserable life experiences from a safe distance. He has since performed at the New York Comic Con -- a dream come true. He performed at the "New Faces" showcase at the 2010 Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. He was also nominated for Best Male Comedian at the 2010 ECNY Awards and featured in Time Out New York. He made his television debut on "John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show" on Comedy Central on April 14, 2011.
