About Brooklyn Boogie Brunch

The hardest-rocking kids in Brooklyn will light it up again this Sunday, March 1, from noon – 4 pm at Brooklyn Boogie Brunch. Now in its second year at Littlefield in Gowanus, the afternoon family concert will feature music for all ages, from the quirky and kid-friendly Songs for Unusual Creatures to a set by “Captain” Kirk Douglas and Mark Kelley of the Roots. Kids will take the stage themselves as well with Blue Lightning and Bones Crew, two of Brooklyn’s top underage bands.

Other activities will include art projects and a raffle with prizes including tickets to Amateur Night at the Apollo, the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and a Nets game at Barclay’s Center.

Food will be available from Brooklyn favorites including Sidecar, Korzo and The Chocolate Room, with cash bar by Littlefield.

Brooklyn Boogie Brunch is a benefit for PS 295 – The Studio School of Arts & Culture, which lies at the intersection of the South Slope, Windsor Terrace and Sunset Park.

About P.S. 295 – The Studio School of Arts and Culture

PS 295 (http://www.ps295.org ), located at 330 18th Street in Brooklyn, is a community that embraces diversity by nurturing strengths and talents to educate the whole child socially, academically, culturally and artistically through differentiation in all facets of learning. In recognizing that all children learn in different ways, the school believes that an arts integrated curriculum cultivates a more meaningful discovery of self, enhances prior knowledge, supports content and language development, and encourages a strong respect and appreciation for the arts. The school’s strong professional development program provides ongoing learning and leadership opportunities for all members, while helping students become lifelong learners and leaders of the future.
