Latin Big Band: Cuban Hits From the '40s-'60s

Now that the chill is finally fading from U.S.-Cuba relations, the Latin big band sound is really heating up, and an all-star collection of talent will soon be adding their musical fuel to the fire at the Lehman Center. Coming to the stage in the Bronx are the Machito Orchestra, the Mambo Legends and several special guest artists, including percussionist Giovanni Hidalgo, Cuban pianist Emilio Morales and Latin guitar specialist Nelson Gonzalez. They've put together a concert saluting the genre's hits from the '40s, '50s and '60s, which range from rhumba and mambo to cha cha and salsa.
