About Benjamin Furman

Benjamin Furman is a pianist, composer and singer born in Santiago, Chile, in 1991. His house was filled with musicians, hence his musical education began at an early age. At age 23, he finishes his musical studies at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, with a degree in Piano Performance. His musical influences are varied including Jazz, Middle Eastern music, Southamerican Folklore, Latin, Rock and Folk. This variety becomes clear in his debut album "Desde el jardín" (From the Garden), in 2014.

"Benjamin has become one of the young jazz musicians in Chile with the most projection nationally and internationally, highly recognized and praised by his colleagues. He is a multifaceted musician, performing and composing in diverse styles" (Roberto Barahona, Director of Radio Program "Puro Jazz" and Internation Festival of Providencia, one of the most important Jazz Festivals in Latin America).

Benjamin has had presentations in many festivals internationally and other important venues, including: "Festival Jazz a la Calle" (Uruguay) and "Festival de Jazz de Lebu" (Chile). He has had many collaborations with some of the most renowned musicians from Santiago, Buenos Aires, Boston and New York. He has also recorded many albums as sideman. He is also a writer of poetry, fiction and non-fiction, as well as an actor. He is currently working in the publication of his first compilation of short stories, and has acted with an important role in dramatic and comic plays in Chile.

In December this year he will be special guest to the Rotem Sivan Trio (Israeli distinguished jazz trio that lives in NY).

In January will have performances in Festivals in Chile and other countries of Latin America.

During July he will be on tour with Álvaro Zavala Quintet with relevant chilean jazz players that live in Buenos Aires, Chile and NY.
