About Ben Lorentzen

Life is good and bad in equal measures, we have little option but to move on. This is an underlying theme in my songs.

I have been tossed out, kicked out, spat out. It has shaped my music and me as a person. Some people call my music dark. Some say it's hauntingly beautiful. I call it Acoustic Pop Noir. It's music to get you through the night. It is somber, but there is an empathetic, embracive feel to it.

I just launched my first cd: AMERICA. America is the musical Mekka, the Nirvana, The Eldorado I grew up with in my home country Norway. These songs represents my journey here… and what a journey that has been! I have been labeled as the devil incarnated and I was just looking for love.

Aren't we all?

This album tells the story on how I found it… in a way. It's not in your face, you have to kinda look for it…but it's there.

I am influenced by artists like Cave, Dylan, Cash, Drake and Cornell. To mention only a few.

I like the passion, the search for the divine in the everyday life human experience that these artists represent. I strive for that in my own music.
