Bellydance for Humanity Charity Event

NYC bellydancers Layla Isis and Mariyah present, in collaboration with Global Hafla for Humanity, a multi-cultural dance concert to raise funds for the International Relief Committee to benefit relief efforts.

Renowned New York City bellydancers Layla Isis and Mariyah have worked together on various collaborations of their own and as members of several dance companies since 2008. In 2012 they teamed up to form Entelechy Dance Theatre and went on to produce a series of theatrical dance concerts performed at Drom in 2013 and 2014 to wide acclaim. They are also the co-founders of Infinity Bellydance, a dance company offering special event entertainment that has performed yearly at Drom for The Bellydance Spectacular along with Sira since 2011.

They are both long-time members of the Dalia Carella Dance Collective and the Arabic music and dance ensemble Zikrayat, in addition to their own thriving solo careers in the Middle Eastern dance world. Individually and collectively, they have collaborated in countless theatrical productions, instructional and performance DVDs and taught workshops around the world. Notable credits include Lincoln Center, Town Hall, events at The United Nations, The Bellydance Superstars, Dr. Oz, Late Night with Conan O'Brian, Sex and the City 2, HBO's Vinyl.

100% of artist proceeds will be donated to the IRC: a charity that uses 92% of its funding to deliver aid directly to refugees, is given an A+ on charity watch, and a 4-star rating on Charity Navigator.

The night will feature a diverse program of classic oriental bellydance, theatrical and world fusion performances, a dabkeh lesson and dance party, and a raffle of highly valued prizes!
