About Ballet Hispanico
Ballet Hispanico Celebrates Latino Cultures Through Dance
Expect the unexpected when Ballet Hispanico, one of the nation's most innovative and athletic dance troupes, brings its trademark "invention, humor and spontaneity" ("The New York Times") to Harlem's famed Apollo Theater. Through the fresh, relevant works of the troupe's repertory, artistic director Eduardo Vilaro continues to explore the Latino voice in dance. A storied dance organization that constantly seeks new creative challenges, the Ballet has enraptured more than three million people on three continents with its rich catalogue of more than 100 works. See the premiere of "Beautiful, Also, is the Sun", a full-length work by highly theatrical young Brazilian choreographer Fernando Melo. This homage to Melo's native country includes an exciting medley of electronic and acoustic Brazilian music.Comments
