Back 2 Mac

About Back 2 Mac

Back 2 Mac began in Louisville KY in 2010 as a one-night only festival concert performance of the Rumours album and has since become a seven year labor of love among musical friends who gather a few times a year to play the music of Fleetwood Mac with a spirit and playfulness that only happens among seasoned musicians with history and a deep love for the music. In the course of Back 2 Mac shows you can expect electrifying reads of hits like "Gypsy", "Go Your Own Way", and "Everywhere", but the band also revel in the lesser played eras of Fleetwood Mac led by Peter Green and Bob Welch. Since 2010, the band have made rare tours of the midwest and have previously sold out Joe's Pub at The Public Theatre.

THE BAND:

Back 2 Mac's performances center upon Kimmet Cantwell's remarkable take on the music and energy of Stevie Nicks. A Long Island native, Cantwell moved to Kentucky in the late 90's where she and Back 2 Mac drummer Ray Rizzo met and toured together in the Geffen/Interscope post-grunge band Days Of The New. Since that band's dissolution, Cantwell works non-stop throughout the mid-west as an in-demand vocalist and video producer, while Rizzo, now a New Yorker, records and tours with the likes of Josh Ritter, Bob Weir, Trixie Whitley, and downtown artists like Amber Martin and Justin Vivian Bond. Kimmet's longtime musical collaborator in Louisville is Back 2 Mac's keyboardist Bob Ramsey, who played for many years with Leon Russell.
