"Here is a letter from my lonelier self / to the one that's in love once again / I couldn't find you so I thought that I would tell / you a few things with my favorite blue pen." So begins Amber Rubarth's fifth album, A Common Case of Disappearing. Grand prize winner of NPR's prestigious Mountain Stage New Song Contest, Rubarth writes songs with a courageous vulnerability so personal that it touches the universal. Produced by Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Norah Jones, Kings of Leon), the album debuted at No. 13 on iTunes' songwriter chart and features duets with Jason Reeves and Jason Mraz.

Rubarth has toured extensively throughout the US, Europe and Japan including appearances at Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center Atrium, sharing stages with many eminent artists including Emmylou Harris, Loudon Wainwright III, Jason Mraz, Kenny Loggins, Colin Hay, Dave Eggar and Lisa Loeb. Her songs have attracted enthusiastic praise from NPR, The Huffington Post, BBC Radio and Acoustic Guitar Magazine, and a live recording at legendary Sun Studios now airing nationwide on PBS.

Rubarth also composes for films, most recently working with Paul Brill for the highly acclaimed Sundance Film Festival winner Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work. She also collaborates with Alex Wong as one half of Brooklyn buzz band The Paper Raincoat, an iTunes Indie Spotlight chosen as Paste Magazine's "Best of What's Next."
