About Alive 'n Pickin' Happy Hour w/The Bloodshots
The Bloodshots are a 3 piece Rockabilly band based in Brooklyn, NY.
Little Lesley fronts the band, slapping the upright bass while she belts out songs with gravel and grace. This farmer’s daughter from upstate New York began playing piano and singing Patsy Cline songs in backwoods bars at age 8. She moved on to guitar and most recently doghouse bass, writing and performing her own brand of wild Rock n’ Roll.
Alongside her, Brian "Swifty" Swift rips out the rock and twang on 6 string. A preacher's son from rural California, he has been writing songs and playing honky tonks and biker bars up and down the West Coast since the 80s when his band was part of the Reno punk rock scene that launched 7 Seconds.
They met in Nevada and left together to start a new life in NYC where they met native Staten Islander Mr. Bobby Lee. Bobby's no stranger to swingin', high-energy Rock. All night long he keeps folks on their feets with his stylish beats.
Together since Summer of 2012, The Bloodshots have been making waves and making friends around New York City with their honest approach to roots-Rockabilly. Known for their charismatic stage-presence and entertaining live show (Don't be surprised if Little Lesley hops right up on her bass in high-heels), The Bloodshots keep it rolling at local nyc watering holes and beyond. The Bloodshots keep it rolling at NYC’s most famous Honkey Tonks and beyond. In their short time together, they are tearing up the rockabilly circuit and have shared the stage with greats: Kim Lenz, Robert Gordon, The Rockats, The Koffin Kats, Jack Rabbit Slim, The Rip ‘Em Ups, and Jittery Jack with Miss Amy, and Hellbound Glory.
“On Fire” is The Bloodshots debut album, featuring 13 original songs of their brand of roots-rockabilly-twang. Songs range from dark, lonesome country to finger poppin’ head boppin’ feet flyin’ rock n’ roll.
