Alive 'n Pickin' Happy Hour w/Simon Petty

Simon Petty is an English singer-songwriter, living in Los Angeles. His new album, ‘The Sad Carousel’, will be released on August 9th with a show at Hill Country in New York City.

Over the quintessentially American strain of blues, country, and soul music, Petty’s husky vocals and confessional lyrics convey a spirited defiance in the face of vicissitudes of a life lived on the road.

Having made an album with T Bone Burnett upon his arrival in the States with his erstwhile band Minibar, Petty toured the country extensively, joining Pete Yorn’s band for several years. Opening up for such luminaries as Crowded House, the Wallflowers, Dave Matthews, Wilco, The Jayhawks, and the Dixie Chicks, he honed his unique brand of world-weary optimism and musical eclecticism that forms the basis of ‘The Sad Carousel’
