About AC Slater / Bones / Subset
AC Slater has established himself as one of the most in demand remixers and producers in the world right now and his growing reputation is showing no signs of slowing down. Raised on 90's Hip-Hop and nourished by old school rave, AC has cultivated these influences to give birth to his own style of music production. A pioneer in the current electro and heavy bass sound, AC is one of the most talked about and sought after dance artists around. His tracks consistently top the Hype Machine and radio airplay charts, most notably his remix of the international hit "Show Me Love" by Robin S and his remix of underground classic "Turn The Music Up" being voted one of Moby's top 10 tracks of the decade.
There's a reason Trevor Moffitt, aka BONES, has played with many of the top names in electronic music from around the world. Fusing house, garage, deep, ghetto, and techno – BONES brings the dirtiest noise of electronic music today into his DJ sets. His unique and eclectic styles have landed him performances at EDC Vegas, EDC New York, EDC Chicago, HARD Summer, HOLY SHIP, Beyond Wonderland, Snowball/Snowglobe festivals, Coachella parties, and showcases @ SXSW and WMC.
In part to co-owning and managing one of the most popular electronic music outlets in the world Gotta Dance Dirty, he also serves as resident for NIGHT BASS w/ AC Slater and Insomniac's INCEPTION Saturdays @ Exchange LA.
Depending on the setting, and more importantly what socks he's wearing, Subset throws down sets ranging from techno to booty house and everything in between. Whether it's setting the mood in an intimate room before Photek, bringing the main stage to a frenzy after Pendulum and Caspa, or bringing a dark Brooklyn afterparty into the sunrise, Subset has proven that he can adeptly read any room and decide which tracks best fit the mood.
Since 2011, Subset has been the resident DJ of New York City's weekly Bassment Saturdays party. He has utilized Bassment Saturdays as a way of giving underground artists an outlet to perform in front of an attentive and receptive crowd. Many artists, including Alvin Risk, CRNKN, Buku, Astronomar, and Sadhu all had their NYC debuts at Bassment. Entering its third year, Bassment Saturdays has upcoming guests including some of the heaviest hitters in dubstep and trap.
With a few original tracks and remixes ready for release, Subset is poised to take his unique brand of bass music global in 2014... or he might open a retirement home for cats.
