T|||DAL was formed during the polar vortex of early 2014. Since then they have been honing their sound and are about to embark on a string of upcoming shows. Citing influences ranging from The War on Drugs to Tom Waits, Graham Parsons to Low, T|||DAL creates dynamic, guitar-driven rock which often shifts from wistful minimalism to over driven release within the span of a song.

When Brooklyn guitarist Andrew Smith recruited guitarist Jordan Taylor, a fellow-Brooklynite, to join his new project, the two singer-songwriters had a shared vision of creating a band which would serve as an outlet for their own compositions, but more importantly, could be a collaborative platform open to creative input from all members. Based on the strength of Smith’s early demos, the pair were quickly able to bring classically-trained pianist Lisette Heidtke (of Ancient History) and drummer/multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Salem into the fold. The line-up was rounded out with the addition of guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Nadeem Salaam (of Apophenia) on bass. After many hours of discussion, the name T|||DAL was chosen through a win/lose game of band-name Russian Roulette.
