About Talia

Singer, composer and influencer Talia presents an intimate solo performance previewing her upcoming EP material at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 3. Above all, Talia describes herself as a lover and teller of stories. Covering the musical landscape from Lorde, Tove Lo, Regina Spektor, and Beyoncé all the way to Joni Mitchell and Stevie Wonder, her music is smart indie-pop that honors her love of words, melody and strong female narratives.

Born and raised in New York, Talia attended the New School for Contemporary Music learning jazz voice by day and absorbing indie folk artists St. Vincent, Andrew Bird, Bon Iver, and Sufjan Stevens by night. Between regular performances at Rockwood Music Hall she created and curated video salon The Orchard Sessions, directing and performing in musical collaborations with artists like Snarky Puppy, Matt Simons, Jesse Harris and Kate Davis. In 2014 she embarked on a world tour singing to over 70 cities with José James supporting his “While You Were Sleeping” album for Blue Note/Capitol Records. Currently bicoastal, she has continued to expand her horizons; directing video, partnering with brands, and composing songs with such artists as Mali Music, Jarina De Marco, Stephen McGregor and José James.
