About Jesse Fischer & Soul Cycle


Jesse Fischer is a Brooklyn-based musician, producer and engineer. Largely self-taught, he is known for his warm, soulful touch and emphasis on melody, groove, storytelling and emotion, and his affinity for combining elements of jazz, groove, and traditional Jewish, African, and American roots music. His latest album, Day Dreamer (Ropeadope Records, 2015), received a 4-star review from All About Jazz, and was called ???the culmination of [Jesse???s] unwavering pursuit of capturing the magical groove in a soul/funk jazz atmosphere.???
As a jazz pianist, Jesse has released seven albums (four independently and three with various labels) and continues to perform at jazz clubs and festivals around the world, often collaborating with percussionist Mino Cin??lu, vocalists Sarah Elizabeth Charles and Nadia Washington, and horn players Takuya Kuroda, Irwin Hall, and Godwin Louis.
Jesse also has released a series of underground remixes of artists like Gregory Porter, Jos?? James, and A Tribe Called Quest that have been played on dancefloors and radio stations around the globe ?????including by tastemakers Gilles Peterson (BBC) and Anthony Valadez (KCRW).
As a producer, he has worked with Morgan James, Elise Testone, Rachel Eckroth, Jessie Davis, Brenda Nicole Moorer, and many other artists in the indie pop, singer-songwriter, and jazz worlds. As a sideman, he has performed internationally and/or recorded with a wide variety of artists including Freddie Jackson, Anthony Hamilton, Lunchmoney Lewis, Deva Mahal, Laura Izibor, Stella Santana, and many others.
