"Flight School": Kids' Book About Penguin Becomes a High-Flying Musical

One of the most beloved "new classics" of children's literature, Lita Judge's brightly colored "Flight School", soars onto the stage, in an original and thoughtful musical adaptation from Vital Theater Company. Like in the gorgeously illustrated book, it is the first day of flight school and portly little Penguin shows up, ready to take wing. But, though he claims to have the "soul of an eagle," our cheery protagonist with goofy red goggles isn't built for aerodynamic loop-de-loops. Penguin's spirit won't be grounded, however. With some friends of a feather, and a little help on the technical parts, Penguin follows his dreams to flip, flap, fly! Wendy Seyb directs this funny, moving tale aimed at those age 2 to 7.
